Our latest project for berries is record-breaking.

Located in Huelva, Spain, at SCA Costa de Huelva, the facility is the largest blueberry packing facility in Europe: it can sort and pack up to 6 tons of blueberries per hour. Induser multiformat lines allow the client great flexibility in packaging, changing between formats nearly instantly.

This factor is extremely important with products such as blueberries: along with a rise in demand, there are also quickly evolving packaging trends as international markets are developed and mature. For example, these packing lines can work with small, medium, or large clamshell packs, as well as shaker cups and small buckets-a new but very popular package for the berries. The packing lines can also be adapted for any future formats the company wants to pack in.

The total project was a joint collaboration between several companies, incorporating robotic transportation, mechanical and optical unloading and sorting, and automatic palletization in addition to Induser’s fully automatic packing lines. The facility counts with 4 double packing lines, for an output of 30,000 unique packages per hour. This project was among one of Induser’s largest, after having developed innovative packing solutions for blueberries for several years. For a closer look at the project, check out the video.
