One week after opening this meeting point in Berlin, we share with our network the main objectives of having attended to this international event for the fruit and vegetable sector.

El Ejido, Almería, Spain on April 11th 2022.- Last week, on a brand new edition of Fruit Logistica – Berlin’s international trade show for the fruit and vegetable industry-, INDUSER met face to face with dealers, collaborators, current and future clients.

On this new occasion, the company from Almería that specializes in designing and manufacturing automated lines for the packaging of a variety of products, has focused on communicating to its professional network about the different application it has developed for eco-friendly materials. Until now, France remains as the main country embracing cardboard as a packing material, while in Spain we are about to introduce a new law in 2023 that will be aimed at single-use packaging for fruit and vegetable.

In this sense, INDUSER has developed several solutions to work with paper bags plus transparent cellulose for products such as cherry tomatoes, sweet peppers or lettuce; another similar solution, but with paper and cellulose mesh for citrus or avocado; and the cardboard flap seamer for apple tubs, which is already a standard in France and is being applied in Spain for avocado, citrus and persimmon.

As for eco-friendly solutions, for vegetable producers, at INDUSER we are working on an application to replace plastic in tricolor peppers, which will be one of the novelties to be presented at the next edition of Fruit Attraction next October in Madrid. A solution that has aroused expectation since there is no solution on the market other than compostable plastic or banding, which has a high cost and makes difficult the automation.

The main challenge for INDUSER is to adopt solutions that allow automated work as in current processes, ensuring that the cost of packaging does not exceed the current packaging prices. This involves multidisciplinary work from our R&D team, together with packaging manufacturers to come up with a complete solution.

Adapting our clients’ current machinery to this type of new packaging is also a challenge for INDUSER’s engineering solutions, that have always followed the multi-format concept.

This concept is proving to be a success in France where our sales have tripled in the last year since our packaging machines already allow work with multiformat cardboard trays. On the other hand, we have provided a solution to the supply the containers through buffers that grant autonomy to the feeding of trays and various automatic closing systems have been applied so that the production cost has not suffered. In this line we are already working in Spain to apply the same technology before the imminent sustainability law of 2023.

At INDUSER, we anticipate changes and maintain a sense of innovation at the service of caring for our environment.
