During Fruit Attraction Trade Show, Alberto García had some time with Pedro Martínez Lázaro, our Sales Director. Take a look!

El Ejido, Almería, España, October 11th, 2022.- Fruit Attraction, the most important meeting point in Spain for the fruit and vegetable industry, has returned with a large number of attendees. At INDUSER, we knew that. We were sure that after the pandemic, when the social distancing regulations have ended, many people would meet in Madrid to exchange news and present the latest launches and innovations to the extensive professional network.

For this reason, on Thursday, October 6th, Alberto García from Onda Cero El Ejido, held a conversation with Pedro Martínez, Commercial Director of INDUSER, to find out the balance of the three days of the fair in Madrid.

Here is the transcript of that dialogue…

Alberto: We continue this last day of Fruit Attraction. We have been counting throughout the program that fewer people are noticeable, obviously, what happened yesterday was not normal, neither the influx of yesterday nor tht of Tuesday. We are with INDUSER’s CBO, Pedro Martínez.

Pedro (Peter): Hello! Good afternoon, everyone!

Alberto: I already notice your voice a little bit hurt, could it be?

Pedro: Yes, you are right. This Trade Show is intense. Many conversations, meetings… and well, the truth is that on the last day, you begin to feel a bit tired.

Alberto: What balance do you make? How was the trade show? The expectations that you came with, have you met your objectives?

Pedro:As a matter of fact, Fruit Attraction is always a surprising event for the number of people who come, still, this year after the pandemic, people had a special interest to come out and participate in trade shows. We have noticed it, there is a lot of international presence, and well… as always, these days have been great!

Alberto: What approach did you want to give it? What’s new? Industry 4.0? Sustainability? Where are the innovation areas this year?

Pedro: First of, we have updated our solutions to the digital world we live in. We cannot stand behind. In a time in which our children already study with tablets, we move with smartphones, we have incorporated to our packaging solutions 4.0 technology. This means that we can have total control over what we are producing, that is, not only automate but also be able to act on the management of that production, make decisions and work with the data that is what we must use today.

Alberto: The famous BIG DATA, the more data, the better for everything.

Pedro: Exactly. In the end it is to help production with the technology we have and that is what we are good at.

Alberto: And all this from sustainability. How are you taking car of it?

Pedro: Right now, we are experiencing and important change in legislation, we have seen how France has completely removed plastic from the shelves. Spain is currently developing the draft for the law that will come into force in 2023, Germanyy too, etcetera. Many countries are in that line, which is why INDUSER, being a company that works in several markets, we wanted to anticipate. Our packaging solutions are prepared for cardboard trays, compostable and recyclable materials. I think we have gone ahead and arrived on time.

Alberto: In addition to 4.0 Industry, what trends? What packaging solutions are there now? What’s next? What are you working on?

Pedro: Most of the producers are demanding a solution that was already in plastic, to make it in a material that is “sustainable”. Different materials are coming onto the market and along these lines, because we have already developed solutions that can do the same thing we did with plastic but with compostable materials, materials that com from fruit pulp, do the same thing we did before but with new packaging.

Alberto: One of the things that we have been talking about with people in the industry is that in marketing, in general, everything is changing, right? There are change, we already know, what is happening, the trends, the worries of the market because “kilograms are going to be missing”. You, in your sector, do you also notice that things are changing?

Pedro: Yes, they do change. The world is evolving. We are living from pandemics to all the situations that we are immersed in and in the end, trends such as consumption and the market change.  We try to be in the trend of what the market is and that is where we have to go.

Alberto: One last thing, you are already arriving in Australia. Tell me a little bit about the synergies, the collaborations, the growth that you are having in that area.

Pedro: We were already established in some markets, but it is true that we have been working for many years in Spain and there is a certain specialization that is highly valued when you go abroad. In Europe we were established in some countries, in America, particularly in Mexico, in Africa, and well yes, this year a relationship has been forged in Australia, which is very far away, but in the end you have to go where the work is.

Alberto: Well then, may the future be better than the present, may you have all the luck in the world, may you continue to grow and may we continue to see each other at all the faris. Thank you!

Pedro: See you here Alberto, all the years to come!
